BASIC BROWNIES
Ingredients
150g butter, chopped
125g dark chocolate, chopped
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup plain flour (murnie added a pinch of baking powder to the flour)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
icing sugar to dust
Method
1) Preheat oven to 180C and grease a 20cm square tin.
2) Melt butter and choc then cool it.
3) Whisk egg, sugar and vanilla essence in a large bowl until combined.
4) Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa powder together.
5) Mix choc mixture into egg mixture then stir in the flour. Do not overmix.
6) Pour into the greased tin and bake for 40 mins.
7) Cut into squares when cool and dust with icing sugar.
